The game is very good, the fighting mechanics work and the drawings aren't bad either. It's clear that it's a game in development, I hope it continues and I'll follow this project.

What is even the criteria of losing or winning a battle? Intuitively I should defend what they're attacking and attack what they aren't defending. But the damage dealt seems very random: even though my stats are all 5s I usually deal 2 and get hit for 5+ no matter what I'm defending

The combat system is based on the subtraction between defense and attack.

The indicated value means the strength of that part of the body both in attack and defense.

If it often happens that you take more damage than you expect and because the various mobs have RESISTANCES and WEAKNESSES that double

or halve the damage dealt or taken.

In the latest versions this aspect has also been accentuated on the screen.

Before Christmas we will probably be able to release a new version of the game.

I advise you to wait for 0.7 for a hypothetical purchase since 0.6 runs poorly :(

I'd suggest adding a combat tutorial since it's the main aspect of the game. I was finally able to figure out that some monsters are weaker against certain types of attacks but it's was a complete guess game

In fact, as I said in the comment before, we already thought about making it more understandable, but since the free version is one of the first, it doesn't have much.

Next year we will create a real demo of the game that is much more complete than the current one.

Could use some more explanations of mechanics.

I did not get to any art beyond the basic sprites and such, which is a little sad.

The combat's pretty wonky. Or at least it feels that way-it's not well explained.

I do like the art I've seen, so I am following this project.
